As our mission statement indicates, the community center board works with dedicated citizens of the Clark Lake community to maintain the historic Clark Lake Community Center as a viable gathering place for family and community activities.
It has taken a major effort from community volunteers to move and restore the former cottage from its 100 year old lakeside site, across the lake, to its present site in the Clark Lake County Park.
We thank those early volunteers, who had the foresight to see the potential future of the old cottage. Those pioneers had the energy to form a not-for-profit group, dedicated to raising the funds necessary to float the building across the lake, and psent many hours of sweat-equity to position the center in the county park and to restore the building to its present state.
Since that time (1997) volunteers have donated their time to repair, paint and decorate the center. Volunteers have also planned and participated in many of the fund raising activities that provide the funds to maintain and improve the Clark Lake Community Center.
We would love to have you join us at one of our monthly meetings. We are always looking for new ideas that will make the Center more useful to the community. The Clark Lake Community Center Boiard meets on the second Wednesday of each month from April through October. Meetings begin at 6:30 PM.
If you can't attend a board meeting, please call or write the center with your comments and suggestions and we will get back to you.
And, of course, we would like to have you become one of the 'Friends of the Center'!
